The idea behind Diablos Designs actually began when I was just a kid — somewhere between playing football in the street and booting up Cannon Fodder 2 on the Amiga.
My brother and I were obsessed with video games, and one day while dreaming up our own game company, we started designing mockups of Amiga game boxes (as you do when you’re 10 or 12 and fuelled entirely by imagination). That was the first time the name “Diablos Designs” appeared — scribbled in biro on a scrappy bit of paper, alongside a sketch of a creature we called “Diablos”. He had horns, attitude, and just enough chaos to make it cool. The logo, the name, and the artwork were all there — like it was meant to be.
Years later, when my dreams of being a professional footballer (or a fighter pilot) didn’t quite pan out, I followed my brother into the world of design. After working with a few agencies, I quickly became disillusioned. I saw first-hand how often clients were sold the dream but left in the dark — promises made, then lost in a backlog the minute the invoice was paid.
I knew things could be done differently.
Then life handed me both heartbreak and a strange kind of clarity. After the devastating loss of our baby daughter, I was made redundant for taking three days off. That moment changed everything.
With the support of my partner, I took the leap and launched Diablos Designs as a real business — not just an idea dreamt up on a childhood notepad. It had to be that name. It felt right. It felt like destiny.
Now, over 14 years later, Diablos Designs is a thriving creative studio. We specialise in website design, branding, graphic design, and 3D animation — and I still approach every project with the same passion and energy I had back then. I love what I do, and so does every designer and developer who works alongside me.
This isn’t just a job. It’s a craft. And passion? That’s everything. Because when you genuinely care about what you create — you make great things.
So who knows what the future holds? All I know is that Diablos Designs will always be here, building bold brands, telling creative stories, and doing the work the right way — with care, honesty, and heart.
